The TMP (thymophthalein monophosphate) test is designed to provide a convenient, reliable laboratory test for the presumptive presence of acid phosphatase (semen). It is more sensitive to the presence of acid phosphatase than other presumptive tests. Up to 100 tests per kit.

Direction for Use:
STAIN SAMPLING: Moisten the suspect stain with one or two drops of distilled water. Moisten a cotton-tipped swab or piece of filter paper with one or two drops of distilled water. Gently rub suspect stain with the moistened swab to transfer a sample of the suspect stain to the swab or paper. Do not perform the test directly upon the suspect stain.

NEGATIVE CONTROL: Use a moistened swab or filter paper to obtain a sample from an unstained area adjacent to the evidence stain. Perform the test upon this sample before testing the evidence stain. This test must reveal a negative result and is used to test for contaminants and is called a "Negative Control".

THYMOLPHTHALEIN MONOPHOSPHATE (TMP) PRESUMPTIVE SEMEN TEST:
1. Use a filter paper or a cotton-tipped swab to sample the suspect stain.
2. Add one drop of the TMP Reagent A to the sample area of the filter paper or swab .
3. Add one drop of the TMP Reagent B to the sample area of the filter paper or swab.
4. SEMEN (ACID PHOSPHATASE) IS INDICATED IF A BRIGHT BLUE COLOR IS OBSERVED WITHIN SEVERAL SECONDS. Pale color development or any color development after 30 seconds should be disregarded.
